The apocalypse isn’t a lie. Our planet will end up soon if we don’t wake up, at least now. The drastic weather changes, the calamities that are hitting the planet every now and then; aren’t just coincidences. The planet is in grave danger, but there still is time for us to wake up and do our bit to save it. If you’re concerned about the planet, *that of course, you are; because of which you’re on this page* we have a list of things that you can do to save our planet Earth.

How I can help to save our Earth

Reduce, Recycle and Reuse:

As kids, we often came across these terms academically. But now is the high time that we implement these terms in our real lives. Reduce the consumption. This doesn’t mean you’ve to starve yourself or cut out on your basics. Let the basics be, but you can always cut out on the unnecessary things. Reuse things that can be. And recycle items that can be recycled at the different recycling centers every city has.

Clean-Up:

As much as we all are concerned about our PERSONAL and PHYSICAL hygiene, care about the planet’s cleanliness as well. Take part in various cleanup activities happening around you. Do your part in cleaning up your area of residence and office. Cleaning up reduces the harm done to the planet. Reduce the use of plastics that might lead to waterlogging at areas of high rainfall. Also, clean drainages every now and then to make sure waterlogging is prevented.

Rainwater Harvesting:

This is the need of the HOUR. Rainwater is flowing down the drains and is coming to nobody’s rescue. This is happening only because of our rash steps of deforestation and infrastructure forests everywhere. Trees have dropped down to a considerate number and they no longer hold water to help increase the groundwater level. Water scarcity is a huge issue, even when about more than 50 percent of the planet happens to be covered with water. Rainwater techniques will help hold water to increase the optimal use of water. Rooftop harvesting being the best of them.

Conserve Water and Plant Trees:

Everything that happens on the planet is interrelated. You plant trees, you’re saving yourself off the wrath of nature later on. Conserve as much water as you can, while you are at it. There are places across the globe where people are murdering each other, just for a drop of water to be able to survive. Now that you have enough water, respect the course of it and conserve as much as you can.

Choose Sustainable Items:

Drop plastics and other products that are non-biodegradable. If you think you’re doing your duty by dumping the plastic waste at the dumping cells, you are wrong. Eventually, all the non-biodegradable waste do not happen to the recycling cells; and some eventually end up going down the ocean lane or even dumped down on the ground. The non-biodegradable waste does not contribute anything to the soil or the water beneath, and instead, they increase a lot of problems to the planet. Drop down the usage of plastics NOW.

Lesser Consumption of Non-Renewable Resources:

Take your cycle or walk down for your office if it’s near to your place. You don’t have to completely stop the usage of petroleum and other fossil fuels, but at least reduce. Fossil fuels take about 6 million years to form a few centimeters to form. That is how important the fossil fuels are. We fail to understand its importance, but it is high time. Now you still have a choice; there will be a time when you’ll be forced to drop down your cars at home- Because there won’t be any petrol or diesel for your rescue.

Do not Burn Litter:

People still burn litter. This won’t help the nature in any manner. It does more harm than good. By burning anything unnecessarily, you’re only increasing and contributing the global warming. By now, nobody is alien to the concept of global warming. Global warming is the reason why the temperatures are soaring, why the winters have become extremely cold and why weather forecasts are nothing but unpredictable. A lot of burning up stuff only increases the global warming.

Garden Compost:

If you have a small garden or even a lawn at your veranda, you can try garden compost. All the biodegradable waste that is generated at your place can find a place under the garden. Dig up a small hold in your lawn and start a compost. Dump the waste there and see how beautifully the garden grows. The biodegradable waste acts as manure and thus comes to dual use.

Low Energy Appliances and Less CFCs:

CFCs are found in almost all the appliance we use- right from the refrigerator to ACs and everything. Using low CFC consuming appliances at your place can help reduce the impact of these carbons on the ozone layer that we have already depleted enough. CFCs contribute to both global warming and ozone layer depletion. The ozone layer is the one protecting the planet from the harmful UV rays of Sun. Once the layer is harmed enough and collapses, the harmful rays will directly reach the planet and lead to a number of skin complications and eventually death of humans.

House Plants:

Keep healthy and small plants even at your place; inside rooms. This way you’ll invite freshness around and will also contribute to more greenery around. Also, make sure you have proper ventilation across the rooms, to reduce the usage of electricity and in turn reducing the impact on the consumption of fuels. Electricity generation needs a lot of fuels burning down for it. Help reduce it, to save the planet.

Our planet earth will somehow save itself, it is we who are in danger. We can be saved from the wrath, only when we save our planet from our own wrath. By following the above mentioned, we can make an impact on the planet, positively. It is the high time we reverse the harm we did so far.
